This is achieved by inserting the Server and Viewer Cookies onto the web browser of the viewer. The Server Cookie contains the information on the type of the device from which the camera was sent.
The Client Cookie stores the information on the web browser from which the camera was received, the local IP address of the camera, in addition to the rotation settings of the camera. The rotation setting is stored in the Server Cookie, and is used to show the camera in the correct orientation.
At the time of viewing, all the information in the Client Cookie is sent to the Server Cookie, and the result is then presented in a manner, which is dependent on the Server cookie information.
The most obvious benefit of using this method of viewing is that you do not need a copy of the WDM driver. Unlike the original version of the Netview Client, this version has a built in minimal WDM driver which uses the WDM Driverless option.
But this is not the only benefit, because when using the original Netview Client, to view the camera, you had to create a shortcut to the registry, which was then loaded in the client’s taskbar. This is no longer required with the new version of the client, since the registry has been added into the Windows Explorer.
Also, the new version of Netview Client uses a small navigation bar at the top, which provides the user with a number of options, which allow them to configure the client, and also allow them to start/stop the viewer.

All of the new features of the Netview Client has been tested and works fine.

The Netview Client will run on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.

This is the answer from the develope. Let me know if there is anything I could have done better or more. I’m look for a way to charge their customers that want to set up their own server — you know — in exchange for a commission or something.

I like the idea of the application, but I am disappointed that it is not free. I do not think it a good practice to require a user to pay for something free and I am sure that is what you are doing.

I also think it is unfair that there is no way to communicate with the developers on the project. I would like to be able to complain about things I see that I am unhappy with and I would like to know that it was actually in the interest of the developers of the project to change that to suite my needs. Perhaps I just need a free version.

I have been looking for the link to the small description, but no luck. You might have the download link available.

The last «update» of Netview Client I saw was something like 11-20 days ago. The most recent email address I received was one from 2010-11-26 10:46:38.

I think I mentioned that to them earlier — but no response. I then mentioned that I would be posting this to the list — in hopes of getting some feedback. So, I’ll continue to try to see if I can obtain a.zip file.

Honestly I just found out about netview client and want to set up and setup all my cams. The problem is that I want it to operate on my home server( this will mean I will not be interested in buying a new computer).
The only thing I really want to make sure is that I can’t access it over the internet. I would prefer that it run on my own server but if not
