Equipped with the right applications, a computer can be of great help in virtually any domain of activity. When it comes to designing and precision, no other tool is as accurate as a computer. Moreover, specialized applications such as AutoCAD give you the possibility to design nearly anything ranging from art, to complex mechanical parts or even buildings.
Suitable for business environments and experienced users
After a decent amount of time spent installing the application on your system, you are ready to fire it up. Thanks to the office suite like interface, all of its features are cleverly organized in categories. At a first look, it looks easy enough to use, but the abundance of features it comes equipped with leaves room for second thoughts.
Create 2D and 3D objects
You can make use of basic geometrical shapes to define your objects, as well as draw custom ones. Needless to say that you can take advantage of a multitude of tools that aim to enhance precision. A grid can be enabled so that you can easily snap elements, as well as adding anchor points to fully customize shapes.
With a little imagination and patience on your behalf, nearly anything can be achieved. Available tools allow you to create 3D objects from scratch and have them fully enhanced with high-quality textures. A powerful navigation pane is put at your disposal so that you can carefully position the camera to get a clearer view of the area of interest.
Various export possibilities
Similar to a modern web browser, each project is displayed in its own tab. This comes in handy, especially for comparison views. Moreover, layouts and layers also play important roles, as it makes objects handling a little easier.
Sine the application is not the easiest to carry around, requiring a slightly sophisticated machine to properly run, there are several export options put at your disposal so that the projects itself can be moved around.
Aside from the application specific format, you can save as an image file of multiple types, PDF, FBX and a few more. Additionally, it can be sent via email, directly printed out on a sheet of paper, or even sent to a 3D printing service, if available.
To end with
All in all, AutoCAD remains one of the top applications used by professionals to achieve great precision with projects of nearly any type. It encourages usage with incredible offers for student licenses so you get acquainted with its abundance of features early on. A lot can be said about what it can and can't do, but the true surprise lies in discovering it step-by-step.
Following the success of AutoCAD Torrent Download, the company developed AutoCAD Serial Key LT, a small footprint version of AutoCAD for use on personal computers running Windows 95 or later. In addition to being intended for home or personal use, AutoCAD LT was also intended to help small businesses and schools share and collaborate on documents. Since the introduction of AutoCAD LT, many third party AutoCAD accessories and software programs have been created for the purposes of ease of use, collaborative document creation, and remote/mobile viewing of files.
You can find articles on AutoCAD, instructional videos, books, and other resources to help you use AutoCAD in this section. If you have questions about AutoCAD, please use our free online forum and User Questions subforum. Please note that at this time we cannot support users with in-depth or specific AutoCAD questions or problems. If you are having problems using AutoCAD on the PC, you can always try to use AutoCAD on the desktop (AutoCAD 2004, or newer) instead.
Also note that the Forum may contain general discussion of third-party AutoCAD components or applications. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of any information provided. We also do not endorse any third-party applications or components.
AutoCAD has been bundled with software from other Autodesk applications. While we have made great strides in making AutoCAD more available, many third-party programs still only run on AutoCAD 2004 or earlier versions. If you use the wrong version of AutoCAD, you can find information on how to use AutoCAD 2010 from the Community Tools and Resources section of the support site.
Autodesk recently announced the new Autodesk Revit 2019. For questions about Autodesk Revit and the Autodesk Revit Community, see this article.

DGN is a specification to store and exchange geographic data.
DGN stands for Digital Geospatial Network. The specification has been adopted by the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP). DGN is used as a standard interchange format between the GIS components of the oil and gas industry. The standards encompass 3D modelling, geospatial analysis, geospatial modelling, data transfer, and database integration.
DGN is the recommended format for exporting and importing GIS data between systems. It is also used for data exchange between GIS software and the Internet. However, the data can also be exchanged between GIS software and other software.
DGN uses a hierarchical model to represent GIS data. The layer types are Layer, Feature and Shapefile. An attribute table is created to store attribute information. The attribute table and shapefile are stored in a file named «DGN».
A GIS application can access an exported or imported DGN file by following the instructions in the DGN specification, therefore creating and editing a DGN file is similar to GIS data exchange.
DGN data can be automatically imported from an ASCII text file. DGN data can also be imported into most GIS software using ArcGIS, MapInfo, or ESRI’s ArcView, which have either native or compatible plug-ins for DGN data import.
The DGN data is independent of the shapefile format and can be stored with different formats like CSV, XML, Oracle Spatial, DBF, or SQLite.
Some GIS software has been developed to handle DGN files:
GeMapViewer — provides reading of GeoDatabase, DGN files and converting them into ArcGIS shapefiles
GEE — provides reading of GeoDatabase, DGN files and converting them into ArcGIS shapefiles
GeoTools — provides reading of GeoDatabase, DGN files and converting them into ArcGIS shapefiles
Geoportal — GIS database management software for Windows and Linux.

Using the Autocad Authoring Studio
If you purchased Autocad Authoring Studio, here is how to install and use it.
If you purchased Autocad Autocad (without Authoring Studio), here is how to use it.
1. Open the Autocad application and activate it.
2. Click Edit > Preferences > Options.
3. Click the User’s tab.
4. In the Initial value box, type ’12’ in the textbox.
5. Click OK to save the changes.
Create a new drawing:
Open Autocad and create a new drawing.
Open the drawing in Autocad Authoring Studio and export it to Autocad.
Do a ‘Save As’ on the drawing.
If you save the drawing with a name different from the Autocad default (e.g. ‘My drawing.dwg’ instead of ‘My drawing.dwg’), then you will need to make sure to replace the ‘My drawing.dwg’ text in the ‘Save As’ dialog with the real name of your Autocad file.
If you want to name the file something else than the default name, make sure to keep the last part of the file name, and only change the first part (e.g. change from ‘My drawing.dwg’ to ‘My_file.dwg’ or ‘My file.dwg’ to ‘My file.dwg’)
To open the Autocad Authoring Studio drawing file in Autocad, first save it, then open it in Autocad as an Autocad Authoring Studio file
