The game is loaded with great quality of life features like a completely overhauled combat system, and it’s paced out with some of the best quests and dungeons in the game.

— For those familiar with Skyrim, Dawnguard is a free expansion pack that adds a second playable main character, the vampire lord Count Drusius Twilight, along with a number of side quests and dungeons. All told, the Dawnguard expansion adds around four hours to the game.

On its own, Dawnguard is a fantastic expansion, with a number of high quality side missions and vampire hunting environments. Since they serve as side missions, they offer up three completely unique combat encounters and the chance to visit some beautiful wilderness locations. If you haven’t checked out The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim — Dawnguard, it’s a great free DLC that will bring you right back into Skyrim’s world.

The combat overhaul is one of the best additions in this DLC and it turns Skyrim’s combat into one of the best in the genre. With the switch from traditional combat to a more action focused combat style, the combat system feels much more fluid and much more powerful. What was great in the original campaign, which featured a number of well executed cinematic battles, has been improved upon here. Now, combat becomes a far more involved affair, with enemies actually reacting to your every action and reacting in a completely different way than they had before. It’s not quite like a full blown action game, but the combination of improved melee, ranged and magical abilities, along with a host of brand new spells and magic builds makes for some incredibly fun battles.

The skill trees have also been revamped to offer a wide variety of options and new abilities, with the new Noble skill tree being the best example of this. This system gives you access to a number of skills that can be advanced to add additional effects to your arsenal, which can range from bonuses to health to magic damage.

The dungeons that have been created in Dawnguard, which can be accessed either by yourself or with a group of up to four other players, are filled to the brim with tons of side missions, exploration and combat encounters. But unlike the main campaign, all of
